Ending: The Light of a Small Classroom
Text size
Brian stands at the front of a Japanese language school classroom, patiently teaching international students who stumble over the language just as he once did. Every time someone in the corner of that room grasps a small success, he feels it almost as if it were his own. One lesson, he teaches them the name of a Swahili song, "Wimbo wa Mwezi" — and outside the classroom window, a round moon happens to be rising.
Author's note
Written as the baseline ending reachable from any set of stats. I wanted to affirm that helping someone else can be its own form of "success," even without a dazzling achievement to show for it.
